Broncos Annual Lunch a Major League Success
The WOW Brisbane Broncos 'City or the Surf' themed Annual Lunch previewed their local derby clash with the Jetstar Gold Coast Titans, at Suncorp Stadium on May 16, which Brisbane won convincingly 32-18.
The event, held on Wednesday May 13 at the Sofitel Brisbane, featured a light hearted debate between Brisbane and Gold Coast celebrities as to what is best - City or the Surf?
Brisbane's Bruno Cullen, Ian Healy and Vicki Wilson and the Gold Coast's Nikki Hudson, Aussie Joe Bugner and Michael Searle participated in the debate led by NOVA 106.9's David Lutteral and Ashley Bradnam.
Approximately 300 guests were drawn to the event including high profile members of the Rugby League community: Broncos coach and captain Ivan Henjak and Darren Lockyer; Titans coach and co-captain Michael Searle and Luke Bailey; and former players Wally Lewis, Gene Miles and Allan Langer.
The success of this event has built greater anticipation for the WOW Brisbane Broncos Banquet Auction to be held on Friday July 31 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Channel Nine Queensland newsreader Melissa Downes will be the Master of Ceremonies for the event, and all funds raised will be contributed to the Brisbane Broncos Charities Fund and the development of Rugby League in Queensland.
Jon Stevens, an acclaimed vocalist who built his reputation as the frontman of rock/pop outfit Noiseworks in the late 80s, will provide entertainment.
